Coronary Arteriography
Coronary Arteriography is an x-ray procedure that is used to examine the arteries of your heart with a special camera. The procedure is done in a catheterization laboratory ("cath lab").
What can Arteriography tell the doctor?
Arteriography can detect the presence of coronary artery disease and is the most accurate method for displaying the parts of the coronary arteries that have been narrowed or occluded by arteriosclerosis.
Will I feel any pain after the Arteriography?
It is not uncommon to feel some soreness in the area where the catheter was inserted.
What will the doctor discover about my coronary arteries?
The arteriogram will show the physician exactly where your coronary arteries are narrowed or occluded by a buildup of fats and cholesterol. |
