Aorta / renal ultrasound test instructions

Here’s what you need to know, and do, before you have your aorta or renal ultrasound.

• Do not eat or drink anything four hours before your test. This includes coffee and gum the morning of your test. This test is typically scheduled in the morning.
• Please wear a two piece outfit.
• The night before your test you will need to take an extra strength Gas EX.
• The morning of your test you can use water to take your medications. also take a second dose of Gas EX one hour prior to your exam.
• Ultrasound images will be taken at various areas on your abdomen.
• You should receive your results within five to seven business days.
